Is your lamp & oil ready?

Through many seasons of my life, there is a scripture that has been the epicenter of walking through the trials I've faced. This one verse has given me hope when all light seemed to go out. These are the words that I declare over the Bride of Christ today:

Job 23:10

"But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure gold."

When I first began this series of Biblical Womanhood, there was a certain pathway I wanted to take. However, I am now seeing from a different perspective in light of COVID-19 and the vivid unknowns the world is facing. Last night was the first time in three weeks that I had an awareness that life will not return to normal as we all know it. The days we are living in are a transitional period of time...an exit of the old to enter into the new. The heart of God is all about bringing forth newness because He wants us to experience abundant life. I believe humanity as a whole is living in great days of experiencing a move of God as we never experienced before.

Isaiah 43:18-19

"Forget the former things;

do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up;

do you not perceive it?"

As women, we absolutely love the moment when the bride walks down the aisle towards her husband. Whether it's in real life, a story book or a movie, our eyes swoon over this scene of beautiful unity. It's the moment we've all been waiting for! It's the moment of completion after all the longings and preparation.

The entire Bible is a love story of God pursuing His bride with gentle yet fierce love. This radical Love would prove Himself through suffering and pain. This Love would prove Himself by laying down His own humanity in the being of Jesus Christ. This Love would prove Himself by taking on the sins of all mankind in order that we could enjoy deep intimacy with our Heavenly Father.

This Love Himself is the only way to newness of life.

Ladies, I charge you with this question today:

Is your lamp & oil ready?

Matthew 25:1-13

Are you ready in these days of uncertainty to walk towards Jesus with utmost confidence? Are you preparing yourselves for what lies ahead of you or will you be caught without oil for your lamp? Do not forsake your first Love for any comforts of this world. Do not look back and wish to be where you once were. Do not be afraid; for the Lord is with you. He is doing a new thing IN YOU & AROUND YOU! May we say "yes" to Him with pure joy knowing that He is coming for a Bride who is READY!

amen.
