Hey friends,
Productivity is on the forefront of my mind today and I wanted to share something that I hope is helpful to you.
Sometimes the lack of being productive has legitimate reasons.
Sometimes the lack of being productive is because of our mindset with challenges we are facing.
It's really important to know the difference and to be able to vocalize the difference to ourselves.
EXAMPLES:
1. Legitimate Reason: Two weeks ago I had a severe cold/sinus congestion/cough that hindered my ability to stay on top of tasks for our home and for my business.
2. Mindset Challenge: My toddler has not been napping well for weeks which has caused me to feel very stressed out which has limited my productivity during "rest time."
When I was sick, my body was craving and needed extra rest and sleep. This is a legitimate reason for not being productive.
My toddler not napping well is still something I cannot control, however, I can control my response to the situation. I can control that he still has rest time in his crib even though I know he is not sleeping. I can control my internal peace by praying through the challenging situation.
This week I want you to identify the legitimate reasons and non-legitimate reasons for your lack of productivity. (or maybe you're doing REALLY WELL and you don't need this - which is great too!)
I want you to literally speak out (talk to yourself!) about the reason(s) why you're having a difficult time being productive in one area of your daily life. There is A LOT of power in just speaking it out! And then, take that knowledge and turn it into action.
EXAMPLE:
1. My toddler is still not wanting to nap. It is very stressful because he needs to sleep but I cannot control my son. I can't make him sleep. I can give him space to rest and have quiet time which will still allow me to work on my business. I can trust the Lord in deeper ways with my son.
I am praying for you, friend, that this week is not only revealing but that you are able to take action against the lack of productivity. I pray that you feel empowered and strengthened in body, mind and spirit.
2 Timothy 1:7
"For he has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind."
