prayer over all the babies... (+ what is your parenthood advice for newbies like us?)

We are joyfully & anxiously awaiting baby boy's arrival this month with my due date being June 19th. Funny thing is: my husband's birthday is June 20th so we will just have to see if they share the same birthday!

38 weeks + 3 days:

* Life has slowed way down as my body prepares to run a marathon I've never ran before.

* I'm starting to really dislike dates but since it's beneficial to get my body ready, I'm continuing to eat my 4 per day (I may have skipped a few days, haha!)

* Mornings are the best. By evening, I feel like a 90 year old woman trying to walk around.

* This whole "baby dropping" thing is no joke - talk about feeling like there is a bowling ball between the legs!

* Ben and I cannot wait to finally announce our little man's name! (clue: it's only mentioned once throughout the entire Bible)

Question to all parents:

What is your best parental advice for newbies like us?

We have been asked a few times how we feel about bringing a child into the world at this point in history. Even though we understand the premise behind this question, our collective heart response is: "What better time is there?"

The Lord gives us the joy to be fruitful, multiple and fill the earth. He never says "be fruitful and multiple unless..."

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

~Genesis 1:28

We wholeheartedly believe that the climate of our culture should never dictate bringing forth new life into the world. If we are living in fear of what it will be like to raise a child today, then we are not trusting the Lord. But even more than this, we are not seeing through the eyes of God.

Every child is a gift.

Every child has purpose.

Every child has a unique calling.

Every child is born for such a time as this, no matter the year in history.

Let this be our prayer for all babies born during this crucial time in history:

Father, thank you for these little ones who will bear your Name & carry on the torch of Truth. With all that we have, we pray that these boys and girls will know the love of Jesus in such a powerful way that they love people fearlessly. We pray that these babies being born will receive greater revelation into Your Word that will dismantle the lies of the enemy in their community, city and nation. We ask for your presence to fall upon these children that they may know where they stand is holy ground and will fight the good fight of faith. We boldly declare that this next generation coming forth will be your tangible hands and feet; building bridges across the nations. Give them strategies on how to not just influence their culture but to transform it through the Holy Spirit. May all these children live by the Spirit...being Spirit-led, Spirit-powered and Spirit-anointed.

amen.

P.S.

Hospital bags are packed.

Car seat is installed.

We've done the best we can to prepare.

Now we just wait & trust the Lord as we soon begin this wild new adventure!
